UVflightplanner.com Adds New Weight and
Balance Feature

Geneva (May 12, 2009) – Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. announced its online flight planning software, UVflightplanner.com(sm), has released a new Weight and Balance feature with integrated Runway Analysis (take-off and landing performance) for non-zoned aircraft.

Operators interested in learning more about UVflightplanner.com(sm) and the new Weight and Balance feature are encouraged to visit Universal® exhibit #643 at EBACE 2009 in Geneva May 12-14.

This sophisticated enhancement was developed in coordination between Universal® and Aircraft Performance Group, which is providing the Weight and Balance application programming interface. Aircraft Performance Group is a leading provider of Runway Analysis and Weight and Balance for the business aviation industry.

"We've continually added user-requested enhancements to UVflightplanner.com," said Randy Stephens, Senior Director, Specialty Products, Universal®. "This is an important feature as it will allow users to obtain aircraft-specific takeoff and landing limit weights for specific runway and atmosphere conditions."

Stephens said that Weight and Balance, along with Runway Analysis, are key features to Universal® clients because FAR, EU-OPS and CASA regulatory requirements mandate that a true Runway/Obstacle Analysis and Weight and Balance is required in order to operate in accordance with the Approved Flight Manual (AFM).

Highlighted Weight and Balance Capabilities

Some of the capabilities of the new Weight and Balance feature include:

  • Quickly create or adjust Weight and Balance load manifests, while ensuring that no performance, structural, or center of gravity limit is exceeded
  • Select from a standard or customized fuel burn-off
    sequencing profile
  • Review and print center of gravity graph
  • Integrated take-off and landing performance analysis based on aircraft configuration, runway characteristics and weather
